On April 7, 2023, Archpriest Tkachiov was indicted under two criminal articles: Article 436 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (war propaganda) and Part 2 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine)."
